How to care for Holiday Poinsettia Plants

Learning how to care for Holiday Poinsettia Plants can be very rewarding. Poinsettia Plants came in different colours but, of course, the red one is the most popular one. Although it’s a winter plant and a very fussy one, treated correctly it can last a all year till next Christmas, but it is very challenging.

Handmade Christmas Cards - make your own!

Handmade Christmas Cards are so much fun to make ( if you’re into crafting, of course – my mother would roll her eyes if she heard me saying that…), but I really love making them. And I do make them, every year. They’re not too time comsuming. It’s really up to you and the kind of decorations you want to add to the cards.

Take a few shortcuts, some glue and scissors and you can make stunning looking cards

Miss Vilma's Homemade Italian Bread

This Homemade Italian Bread is to die for! Last week I went to visit a friend for her birthday and her mother had this divine looking (and tasting) bread on the table for us to help ourselves. Miss Vilma is a great cook – one of those really traditional, recipes in her head, measures by the cup, “I think this is about right” kinda cook – we love those don’t we?!…, so I knew it was going to be heaven…and it was. I asked for the recipe and her permission to share it on the website.

Homemade delicious Scones

Homemade scones are one of my favourite tea time comfort foods. I found this recipe many years ago in an old cooking magazine my grandmother had and I’ve been making these ever since. Easy to make and a comfort to the soul. I had a friend over for tea on Sunday and the scones were the perfect treat on a rainy day. Simply delicious.

How to remove tea and coffee stains from your mugs and teapots

Having tea and coffee stains on your favourite mugs, saucers and teapots is always so unpleasant. I love my morning coffee and afternoon tea and have a tendency to use the same mug. After a while these nasty brownish stains start to show up. What I do is use a few natural products I have in my pantry to remove them and it works really well!

Spider Place Cards FREE Template

These Spider Place Cards add an element of fun to your seasonal table setting. I used a green table cloth, pearl dishware and white fabric napkins to set the table.

I wanted to keep my place cards simple, seasonal and a fun reminder of the upcoming halloween night. I didn’t want to get to creepy, or to bugsy, so a simple spider is cute and enough!

Delicous Cinnamon Roasted Apples - Maçãs Assadas com Canela e Moscatel

Roasted Apples is such a traditional Portuguese dish. You can serve it as a desert, with tea in the afternoon, and I’ve had it for breakfast. They’re delicious, sweet and so comforting. It’s a dish that reminds me of my grandmother’s home and how it all translated into care, affection and love. They’re roasting in the oven as I write: pure bliss in an apple.
