All a board!! tablecloth - Todos a bordo!!

I have had this leftover nautical theme fabric for years!!! It was given to me by a friend and at the time I had no idea what to do with it...I put it away and never gave it another thought until now! When the maritime theme came out for Le Challenge, a few days later I remembered the existence of this fabric!! Just perfect!

Tenho estes restos de tecidos de tema nautico há uma eternidade!! Foram-me dados por uma amiga minha e na altura nao fazia a minima ideia o que fazer com eles...por isso guardei-os e nunca mais pensei neles. Quando revelaram que o próximo tema para o desafio Le Challenge seria um tema marítimo lembrei-me da existencia destes tecidos...mesmo a calhar!

I decided the table we have outside in the garden needed a nice tablecloth! It's summertime and when hubby has his days off and the sun is inviting we usually eat in the garden deck and have a barbecue! I added the striped fabric to give it a "beachy" look and the linen just because i can't live without it!!

Decide que a mesa de refeições que temos no jardim estava a precisar de uma toalha. Estamos no verão e quando o Miguel está de folga aproveitamos o sol e comemos lá fora uns grelhados no carvão. Adicionei o tecido ás riscas para lembrar um pouco da praia e do mar e usei linho só mesmo porque não consigo viver sem ele!!

Não pude tirar estas fotos no jardim pois estava uma ventania medonha! Seria uma tarefa impossivel..

Armrest pincushion - Alfineteira de sofá

 

Such a quick and easy over the weekend project. This pincushion hangs over the armrest of the couch while I sew. The side pockets hold scissors, measuring tapes, thread, etc... It is a great scrap-buster but after giving it some thought i actually decided to carefully choose fabrics from my neatly folded stash. This is actually a problem solver. I have the terrible habit of placing my pins and needle on the couch itself!!! Sometimes I looked over and i just couldn't find my needle and with a busy toddler running around putting everything he finds in his mouth...it was driving me crazy! L-o-v-i-n-g my pincushion!!

Esta alfineteira foi um projecto rápido e fácil! Coloca-se no braço do sofá enquanto cosemos. Tem duas bolsas laterais para colocar as tesouras, linhas, fita métrica, etc... É um projecto óptimo para usar restinhos de tecidos que ficam de outros trabalhos, mas decidi usar tecidos que estão dobradinhos e armazenados no meu armário da costura. Isto veio resolver um problema que me preocupava...tenho o hábito terrivel de espetar as agulhas e alfinetes no sofá enquanto coso!!! Muitas das vezes já não encontrava a agulha e dava por falta de um ou outro alfinete e com um bébé a andar por todo o lado e a colocar tudo o que encontra na boca ficava louca á procura das coisas!! Problema resolvido!! A-d-o-r-o a minha alfineteira!!
