T.G.I Friday!

Have been spending a lot of time in my sewing room with my bundle of joy!! The days have been sunny and filled with toys and baby food, my baby boy is now 5 months old and these days have been the happiest ever! I find myself staring at him mesmerized by all the silly little things he does…I never knew motherhood would be like this..uau! ( of course…he's my first..!)

Tenho passado o meu tempo no meu quarto da costura com a alegria que é o meu filhote! Os dias têm sido preenchidos com brinquedos, papa e sopa. Já 5 meses passaram desde o seu nascimento e os meu dias têm sido felizes! Dou por mim a olhar para ele maravilhada com todas as pequenas parvoíces que ele faz...nunca pensei que ser mãe era assim...uau! ( claro...vê-se logo que é o meu primeiro..!)

Baby Girl Teddy Bear!

I had promised a stuffed toy to one of my nieces some time ago ( I think I was pregnant with my baby boy at the time...) and at first I was going to do a bunny rabbit but after buying Tilda's book - "Sew Pretty Homestyle"- I decided on the lovely Teddy Bear. It was the first time I ever sew with felt! It really gives a softer and unique finish and it's really easy to work with!

Tinha prometido à minha sobrinha um brinquedo feito por mim já a algum tempo (penso que ainda estava grávida do meu filhote...) e de inicio era para fazer um coelhinho mas após comprar o livro da Tilda - "Sew Pretty Homestyle"- acabei por me decidir num ursinho bem amoroso. Foi a primeira vez que cosi com feltro! Achei que dá um excelente acabamento a qualquer projecto e é muito fácil de se trabalhar com este material!

The book has really beautiful projects and you instantly fall in love with each and every single one of them as you turn the pages. The Teddy bear was indeed the second project I did from the book but I encountered the same problem with both : the instructions are not easy to follow. However... with a little imagination and sewing skills you eventually "get there" and end up with a lovely and beautiful handmade gift! Hope my niece is having fun with it!

O livro tem projectos lindos e pelos quais nos apaixonamos à medida que viramos as páginas. O ursinho foi o segundo projecto que fiz deste livro e deparei-me com o mesmo problema em ambos : as instrucções não são nada fáceis de se seguir... Apesar de tudo, puxando um pouco pela imaginação e com alguma destreza na costura, acabamos por lá chegar e terminar o dia com um presente amoroso todo feito à mão! Espero que a Madalena ( a mais novinha...por incrivel que pareça tenho duas sobrinhas "Madalenas" eheh ) tenha gostado deste "miminho" da tia!
